Abadabad//The Wild EP

Abadabad has a solid yet whimsical sound which gives off a summery feel that at the same time feels very autumn appropriate. They're use of guitar is really prominent, and a few of their songs are  sprinkled with the tambourine. This Boston based band self identifies their music as rock, but I almost want to disagree as it feels a bit softer than that. Overall, I really enjoyed the songs on this EP and only found myself disliking "California Birds" - it feels to repetitive and cliche.

Music of the Week//8-9-14//France and Friends

Birds Don't Sing//TV Girl

Karen//Mika

A Teenage Prayer//Cry Baby Soundtrack

Papaoutai//Stromae

 Brooklyn Baby//Lana Del Rey

Once again a wierd mix of music. I've been listening to alot of French music or music with French motifs lately because I really really miss it.

TV Girl//French Exit

TV Girl's debut album gives me a strange feeling of belonging that I rarely get from music.  It tells of love and lust in a format that ties in movie sound-bites as well as an orchestra: it has a comfortable flow and a happy-yet-melancholic vibe. What I especially love is that it really sounds like a "proper" album - the songs are the same yet different, and it really gives you a feel for TV Girl's sound. Between the overall mood and the many France references, I thoroughly enjoyed this album and am not ashamed to say I listened to it on repeat all week.

Music of the Week//1-9-14//School is Here Again

Creatures//Shannon Saunders

Blame it On Me//George Ezra

 XO/Beyonce
(Every Friday at our school they play music in between classes and yesterday
was Beyonce day, because it had just been her birthday,  so we got to listen
to her all day long)

Take on the World//Girl Meets World
(I know, I know, this is a very cheesy selection, but let me tell you, waking up
to a song that's basically just oozing confidence into you is great)

ILYAF 1996//Anna of the North

This week my song are all over, and lack cohesion, but they are what got me through this week at school, so I guess they atleast have that.

Florist//6 Songs

Florist has a fragile yet comforting sound, which personally makes me feel like I'm falling asleep and about to experience a perfect dream. These acoustic songs are short, airy, and light, making it good music to just sit and relax too. I particularly enjoy listening to this on the bus in the morning because it seems to subdue my exhaustion. Based out of Brooklyn, they have been posting music since 2013, and have one other album called "We Have Been this Way Forever".
